Every year, at the start of the Christmas season, I like to get matching jammies for myself, my husband, and the kids. The first year that I bought the pajamas, I gave them to Oliver and Andrew on Christmas Eve, and that was kind-of lame, because they didn’t get to enjoy them during the holidays. So, I learned my lesson and gave them to them after Thanksgiving, which is perfect, because then they can cozy up in them all month long and look super festive!

Also, during the holidays, I like to buy some beautiful picture books for my kids. I am a sucker for a pretty cover, but it has to have a good story behind it as well. I like to frequent my local bookstore, not for books for myself, but for books for my babes’ book walls at home. I change out the books monthly, depending on the season or holiday. My little ones are obsessed with books, and I just can’t say no when they ask for more! Some call me weak, but I like to look at it as “closing the word gap”. The more you read to a child, the more words they learn at a young age, but I digress.

This year I combined the two traditions into one and gave them their Christmas book and family matching pajamas at the same time! That way we can all enjoy them both all holiday season long! This year we got our family jammies from Burt’s Bees Baby, they were the reindeer print. I picked up All the Colors of Christmas at my local bookstore. It has an adorable rhyming scheme and wonderful representation of different skin tones, without that being the dominating tone of the book. I love to fill my kid’s bookshelves with books that represent a global perspective and this book definitely hits the mark. The other book, Together, was an Amazon find. This book also has a rhythmic pattern. It talks about how the little boy doesn’t want Santa to bring him toys for Christmas, but rather fun experiences with his loved ones. It teaches the children that Christmas is about memories share with family and friends are what is important, just the idea of being together, which I thought was very sweet!

I highly recommend the books, they were both adorable! AND, the family jammies from Burt’s Bees Baby are top notch! This is our third pair that I have purchased from them, and the one I bought three years ago is still as soft and luscious as the one pictured here! They are great quality pajamas and they always have crazy deals on them in November, so be sure to grab them while you can because they do sell out!
